Composers : Trish Santer
Trish has been playing music of one sort or another since a small child: mainly piano during her long-gone schooldays, but later taking up guitar, bodhran and button accordion, and she enjoys singing and song-writing too. Born in Scotland, brought up in England, but moved back to Scotland in 1986, and stayed ever since. She has been involved with Scots Music Group (SMG) as a student for over 20 years, and apart from attending mixed instrument and singing classes, has enjoyed playing in various groups with other students – anything “from Care Homes to Cathedrals” and busking in Farmers’ Markets. She has played keyboard in SMG’s ceilidh band Ceilidh Caleerie, and Auld Spice Band (which also arose from SMG classes some years before). She has also been an active member of Edinburgh & Lothians TMSA branch, and on the committees of a couple of folk clubs and Linlithgow Folk Festival Association. Sadly, failing hearing is now limiting her musical activities, so she is keen to get some of her tunes out there.
