Aye Fly

by Bryony Griffith

Inspired by a fly on a hotel window while on tour in Italy during a torrential storm. It would potter about for a while then have a mad buzz before chilling out again.

Bryony Griffith is one of England’s most highly regarded fiddle players and distinctive singers with a passion for delving through the tune and song manuscripts of her native Yorkshire. She has spent nearly 30 years playing for traditional dance and has extensive experience of devising innovative ways to present folk material for use in education. She is a Senior lecturer on the Folk degree at Leeds Conservatoire. Her 2018 solo album of traditional English fiddle tunes, ‘Hover’, received 5 star reviews and award nominations including ‘fROOTS Editor’s album of the year’ and Fatea Magazine ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’.
